In a Monday afternoon press release WKU officials announced they had reached a 10-year agreement with the Coca-Cola Company to become the beverage provider for WKU’s campus.
Pepsi had been a main stay on campus for 15 years. Now the Coke products will be sold in all university soda fountains, vending machines, concessions and on campus restaurants.
The previous contract with Pepsi is set to expire Wednesday. Officials said that starting Thursday morning they would begin the process of replacing over 70 vending and soda machines across campus to support the new Coca-Cola deal. Coke products will be sold at all athletic events starting with the January 17th Lady Toppers game.
Coke products to be available on campus include: Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Mello Yellow, Ski, Minute Maid Juices, Dasani Water, Viatmin Water, Smart Water, PowerAde, and Monster Energy Brands.
The transition is set to be complete by the January 23rd, the start of the spring semester.
